Overeducated and underappreciated
The prankster
The violin allowed Casanova to earn enough money to keep body and soul together, despite his personal contempt for his profession. He suppressed his feelings, did his job every evening, and then roamed the taverns and the dark streets of Venice in search of entertainment. He drank a lot, designed funny or violent pranks, and concluded the evening with a visit to a local house of ill-repute. If the girls were busy, his party did not hesitate to forcefully remove them from the premises. They were also not above stealing the girls’ hard-earned money.
