Continue straight ahead and pass by the Torch Room and the Palace Guard Room (In Portuguese they will be labeled “Sala da Tocha” and “Sala dos Archeiros”), until you reach the Particulars Room (Sala dos Particulares). When you get there, take in the portrait of Carlota Joaquina, located in the hallway of the room – it’s just on your left as you walk through the doorway. As you wander through the room, take a look at the other portraits and see if you can identify their subjects. These paintings depict the children and grandchildren of King João VI and Carlota Joaquina.
