Ionis shelter has been open since 2013 and is a facility of Athens Municipality Homeless Reception Center. It has the capacity to accommodate 160 people and provides all the services of a 3 star hotel (room, bathroom, hot water, heating, breakfast and two meals). Meals are offered by the Municipality of Athens (guests have to go to Piraeus Street in order to receive the food themselves), while for those who cannot be moved, there is a delivery service at the hotel.
