City Dressmagasin
Rådhusgata 6
The shop you are now standing outside was a Suit Store during the war owned by a Jew, Moritz Rabinowitz. The store opened in 1935 with this newspaper advertisement: “A large store for ready-to-wear menswear will open its doors at the beginning of April. Anyone who wants to be well-dressed at a reasonable price will wait with their purchases until the store opens. Besides suits and coats of our own label, there will be a great selection of accessories.” (Hagen, Kvanvik, Tronstad, 2010).
