The ‘Katta’ Action
Skippergata 24
On 21 December 1943, three teachers from Kristiansand Cathedral School were arrested at the school by the Gestapo. Several students reacted by honking at the secret police as they picked up the teachers. Later that day, about 20 students were arrested and brought to the Arkivet. The students had to sit at the Arkivet over Christmas and were not released until five days after New Year’s. Each student had to pay a fine of NOK 500 to be released.
