The color pink on fine clothing
Skippergata 24
After Liberation Day, it rained heavily on the 17th of May, the Norwegian national day. A student named Else Marie had worn red silk ribbons in her hair that bled onto her white dress from the rain, turning it pink. The color pink became a positive symbol for Else Marie. She incorporated this color into her work as an artist, and pink became a recurring theme in her artwork. Several of her woven tapestries can be found in churches and town halls throughout Norway. She created a tapestry called War and Peace, now hanging in the Arkivet. The artist's name is Else, Marie Jacobsen.
