The New Royal Palace
Amalia’s Living-room Suite
The New Royal Palace is today’s Hellenic Parliament. It was designed by the architect of the Bavarian Court Friedrich von Gaertner and the works for its completion lasted from 1836 to 1862. The interior design was also taken care of Gaertner and realized by the sculptor Ludwig Michael von Schwanthaler, in cooperation with the painters Filippos and Georgios Margaritis.
