Before the revolution, Tiraspol Jews could receive an education not only in the schools of the Ministry of National Education, but also in private Jewish educational institutions. It is known that in 1863 there was one private Jewish school in Tiraspol. As of 1895, there were two cheders (elementary schools) in which people were educated from the age of seven. In 1901 on Privoznaya Street (now Manoilov Street), a Jewish public school "Talmud Torah" opened in a stone building. In 1913 Mrs. Yudilevich's private women's school was opened, and in 1916 the Lev Jewish elementary school. Reveka Zelterman's Women's School is also known.In 1919-20, the education system was reorganized and all pre-revolutionary educational institutions were declared to have ceased to exist. A network of labor schools was opened in Tiraspol. It is known that in 1928 there was a Jewish seven-year labor school in the building on 25 October Street, where before the revolution, there was a higher elementary school. Now (as of 2022) there is an Eximbank branch in this building.
