The table
Amalia’s Living-room Suite
The table consists of two parallel drawers which form the tabletop. The tabletop is sustained by transversely placed lyre-shaped legs. The legs are joined with a cylindrical bar at their base. The tabletop can be detached from the sides, forming the extension leaves. On the middle of the tabletop there is a faint design. The design of the table is a typical example of the Biedermeier style. One can find a number of side tables of this kind (rectangular, open on each side etc), belonging to this style.
