How do we create a safe space? How does a breath become a communication medium?
In Six Breaths per Minute, five ceramic sculptures function as exoskeletons and clay sound costumes. The work is activated by performative actions (performances) of female performers, who temporarily “inhabit” the ceramic sculptures. Τhey make space for voices struggling to be heard against all forms of violence. Inspired by the polyphonic song, but also the need for bringing together voices for mourning, the work refers to the cultural wealth of the cities of Epirus.
