Daniele da Volterra, The Bust of Michelangelo
It’s time to leave the Musical Instruments Museum to continue our fascinating journey through the Accademia Gallery! Take the path backwards, passing again through the long corridor and the tiny empty room. You’ll soon find yourself back in the first room – the one with all the artworks we’ve seen so far. With the exit/entrance of the Musical Instruments Museum behind you, make your way to the door at the opposite end of the room. As you pass through the door, you’ll enter the larger exhibition space of the Accademia Gallery. Immediately to the right of the door, right next to the doorframe, you’ll see a little bronze bust on a wooden pedestal; this is the Bust of Michelangelo by Daniele da Volterra.
