The cathedral in a nutshell
Cathédrale Notre-Dame-de-Nazareth
The Cathedral of Our Lady of Nazareth is a Roman Catholic church. The construction began in 1107 in the Romanesque style, except for the west portal, which was remodelled in the neoclassical style in the 19th century. The cathedral was consecrated in 1208. Seven chapels surround the central nave (including one dedicated to Saint Eutropius, the 5th-century bishop of Orange). The bell tower houses four bells (the oldest was made in 1338 and the youngest in 1871).
