Two queens
Palazzo Madama
The Palazzo Madama was built on the site of a Roman gate. The nucleus was erected in the 14th to early 15th century but was extensively renovated by two queens (Madama is the Italian word for Madame) of the House of Savoy. Palazzo Madama became the first Senate of the Kingdom of Italy and was included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site list in 1997. It is one of Turin's most elegant Baroque palaces and houses the Museo Civico d'Arte Antica (City Museum of Ancient Art).
