The bold and the beautiful
Royal Library of Turin
The Royal Library of Turin was founded in 1842 and contains over 200,000 print volumes. The library is located on the ground floor of the Royal Palace of Turin. It owes its beauty to the genius of the Italian painter, sculptor, and interior decorator Pelagio Palagi (1775-1860) and its fame to the genius of Leonardo da Vinci, who drew numerous studies that ended up in the library’s collection, including his iconic self-portrait.
