You’ve arrived at one of the undisputed treats of Corfu town… Stazi Meli. The name means ‘It’s Dripping Honey’ and it is the only shop dedicated to making loukoumades (small doughnuts with honey and icing sugar or cinnamon). Loukoumades are one of Corfu’s most delicious traditions. There were many versions of fried desserts in the Italian cuisine introduced by the Venetians, such poulenta, fritoles and tzaletia. And loukoumades, in particular, are associated with religious festivals known as yiortades.
