The greatest church in Valletta
Saint John's Co-Cathedral (Kon-Katidral ta' San Ġwann)
The co-cathedral of Saint John is among Valletta’s most spectacular landmarks. The church was built between 1573 and 1577 to the design of the Maltese architect and military engineer Girolamo Cassar. The austere exterior has remained virtually unchanged since it was built. Still, the interior was sumptuously adorned in the 17th century and is considered one of the most richly ornate churches in the world.
