The third oldest theatre in Europe
Manoel Theatre (Teatru Manoel)
The Manoel Theatre was built in 1731 on the orders of Grand Master Fra António Manoel de Vilhena (1663-1736). The architect remains unknown. The theatre can accommodate approximately six hundred spectators and is considered among the oldest theatrical venues in Europe. Today, the Manoel Theatre remains a vibrant cultural cell putting up productions in English and Maltese.
