The monument in a nutshell
Korean War Veterans Memorial
The Korean War Veterans Memorial was dedicated in 1995 to honor service members of the United States Armed Forces and the Korean Augmentation to the United States Army who served in the Korean War. Two basic geometric shapes (a triangle and a circle) intersect to define an area south of the Reflecting Pool. This area contains five memorial elements: the Field of Service, the Mural Wall, the United Nations Wall, the Pool of Remembrance, and the Wall of Remembrance.
