The Εntrance
The Acropolis Museum is located to the southeast of the Acropolis, in the historic Makrigianni district. The entrance of the Museum is situated onto Dionysiou Areopagitou street, the central backbone of the road network leading to the interconnected archaeological sites of the city. The Acropolis station is located on the east side of the Museum site. In the entrance of the Museum, there is an X-Ray security control for visitors and their luggage. You are therefore advised to avoid carrying large bags. The cloakroom is situated on the ground floor of the Museum, where the visitors are asked to leave their backpacks and voluminous items. The Museum holds no responsibility for fragile and valuable items deposited in the cloakroom. Amateur photography and filming for personal use are permitted throughout the Museum, apart from the Archaic Gallery The use of flash and additional professional equipment (spotlights and tripod) is not allowed in the Museum galleries. Publication of photographs in print and electronic media is not allowed.
