Statue of Athena Varvakios, NAM 129
As you see the relief in front of you, turn right and enter Hall 16, where three large funerary vases known as lekythos are displayed. Cross the room and enter Room 17. Once inside Room 17, make a right turn at the opening and proceed towards the far end of the gallery. There you will find the statue of Athena Varvakios (number 129), which is a copy of the gold and ivory statue that once stood inside the Parthenon. It depicts the goddess holding her shield on one hand and the goddess Nike on the other.
