Let’s cool up a bit
The Condensers
They are tall, blue and 168! They have a very cool name…some people call them cold pipes while others call them cold tubes…however, both of them are the condensers.
The temperature of the coal gas that was produced in the retorts was about 300°C so it had to be cooled off. So it flowed through some large blue pipes, the condensers, which were sprinkled with water all day. So, the coal gas temperature was lowered to 25°C, making it easier to further process.
