Moonlit rainbow
Bridal Veil Falls - Luna Island
Bridal Veil Falls is Niagara's smallest and most slender waterfall. The span of the crest is barely 56 feet (17 meters) wide. The water drops vertically for 78 feet (24 meters) and crushes on the cluttered boulders before reaching the river, which flows another 103 feet (31 meters) below. The waterfall’s name comes from its resemblance to a bride’s veil and is comparatively recent. In the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, the waterfall was romantically known as Luna Falls or Iris Falls because the light from a full moon would shine on the mist and produce a stunning rainbow.
