On the shores of the Liffey
Temple Bar
Temple Bar is Dublin’s most visited district. Cobbled streets and historic buildings housing galleries, cinemas, theatres, restaurants, pubs, craft shops, old family businesses, and colourful coffee shops are packed together in an area of 28 acres south of the River Liffey. Every era of Irish history, from the Vikings to the Victorians and beyond, is represented in the Temple Bar. Walking through its streets and public squares allows us to admire the unique blend of 18th-century townhouses and warehouses with modern, stylish buildings that make the Temple Bar the city’s most charming quarter.
