Al Riyam Park is readily identifiable. In the arid landscape of Muscat, the park is an incredible lush oasis packed with children’s play areas and other recreational facilities (including coffee shops and food stalls). At the top of the hill, there is also a bizarre observation structure shaped like an incense burner. The monument (illuminated at night) was inaugurated in 1990 to mark the National Day of Oman (November 18).
