The Souk of Scents
Perfume Souk
The Perfume Souk’s origins can be traced back to the early 20th century, when Dubai's strategic position along the trade routes of the Arabian Peninsula began to attract merchants from all over the region and beyond. These traders brought with them a variety of exotic scents and raw materials, including oud, frankincense, and sandalwood, which are foundational to traditional Arabian perfumery. As Dubai evolved, so did its marketplaces. The Perfume Souk grew from a few small stalls into a vibrant market, offering an array of products ranging from raw perfume ingredients to finished fragrances and beautifully crafted perfume bottles. This expansion mirrored Dubai's transformation from a modest fishing and pearl-diving village into a bustling metropolis.
