Divine Comedy
Dante’s House
Dante is widely regarded as the father of the Italian language - after all, he was the one to first drop formal Latin for plain vulgar Italian. His Commedia, neither deemed to be funny or "Divine" at first (since it was only later when it was called Divine by Boccaccio), is a timeless literary work that reflects on the complexities of the soul’s journey. It is divided neatly into three macro chapters - Inferno, Purgatory and Paradiso - describing the soul’s ascension or downfall.
