The National Resistance Museum
Koryschades
Koryschades is a small picturesque village of Evrytania. The traditional houses and mansions, the paved alleys and the central square, as well as the plane trees, made the village one of the best destinations of Evrytania. The visitors not only enjoy the hospitality of the locals but also learn about the history of the village. In 1944, the school became the meeting point for the Political Committee of National Liberation who decided to fight and even to give their life for the freedom and the liberation of the country. At the end of the works of the Political Committee of National Liberation, the members voted the so-called Constitution of Koryschades. Today, in remembrance of this event, the school, that has been renovated and declared a protected monument, is transformed into the National Resistance Museum where the photos of Spyros Meletzis are on display on the first floor narrating the glorious days of 1944. On the ground floor a library is established.
