The towers of the heroes
The Karaiskakis towers
The two fortress towers, the so-called Karaiskakis Towers, have always been the guardians of the passages, obeying in one way or another to the commands of the general and hero of the Greek War of Independence, Georgios Karaiskakis who sojourned in the Monastery of Panagia of Prousos. The two towers, the one located in the northeast side and the other in the southwest, as well as the Monastery of Panagia of Prousos, were the perfect refuge for the klefts and rebels, the revolutionary combatants who fought against the Ottomans. These towers have so many histories about these courageous men to narrate.
