Jewelry as grave offerings
Fragments of the Fresco
The jewelry crafted from solid gold included earrings, rings inlaid with precious stones, beads for necklaces alternating with stones or faience, pins, and sewn decorations. Mycenaean goldsmiths initially adopted Minoan styles and later developed their own regional designs and decorations. Noteworthy among these pieces are numerous religious symbols, such as bull's heads, figure-eight shields, crocuses, and ivy leaves.
