Grave circle B
Grave circle B
It was part of the prehistoric cemetery of the area and contained 26 graves with several skeletons surrounded by a circular enclosure. It dates back to around 1650-1550 B.C.E and contains cists and vertical shaft graves. Cist graves are small rock-cut tombs usually containing a single skeleton. The vertical shaft graves are larger, rectangular in shape, with their sides lined with walls. The 26 graves were found scattered in the area, and only four of them had steles. The cist ones are smaller and have few offerings. Numerous offerings were found in the shaft graves, indicating influence from abroad, possibly from Egypt. The retrieved objects include: pottery vessels, bronze weapons, gold, jewelry, arrowheads, etc.
