Royal Green
St. James Park
Welcome to the most regal of London’s Royal Parks. Framed by Buckingham Palace and St James’s Palace, St James’s Park spans 23 hectares (about 230,000 m²). From iconic memorials like the Boy statue to blooming gardens like the Cottage Garden, there’s always something to discover here. Cross the Blue Bridge over the central lake for postcard views—Buckingham Palace to the west, Big Ben to the east. At the lake’s centre, the Tiffany Fountain sends a plume 6 metres into the air; at full power it can reach about 8 metres—roughly the height of the Buckingham Palace balcony. Now, ready to hear how this green haven came to be?
