Get your feet wet
Koukoumitsa
Koukoumitsa is a speck of land, an islet that suddenly appears before you as you approach Vonitsa, almost forcing you to stop and visit it. It is verdant and comes with an easy-to-follow trail that follows the coastline in the shade of pine trees and eucalyptus. A modern wavy bridge offers access to the islet from the beach of Saltini, right across from Koukoumitsa. Back in the day, when there was no bridge, the faithful who wished to visit the chapel of Hagios Nektarios on Koukoumitsa had to cross the sea (whose depth ranges from 20 to 50 cm) on foot.
