The Ambracian gulf offers ideal conditions for many species of fish and shellfish, that thrive in the shallow waters of the lagoons, where sea and rivers meet. Local fishermen take advantage of this bounty with a variety of traditional and modern methods of fishing. The taverna of Patendas in Koronisia was established almost four decades ago next to the sea, towards the southern end of the island. It has become a must-visit culinary destination where you can enjoy delicious shrimp souvlaki, smoked eel, shellfish saganaki, and fresh fish (gilt-head bream, European bass, flathead grey mullet).
