One version of the events inside the cave claims that Saint Paraskevi caught up with the dragon on the exit near Grimpovo and killed him there. The people, in fact, used to point to his bones lying scattered in the cave. Another version describes how the dragon actually went in the cave from the side of Grimpovo and came out behind the current church of Saint Paraskevi, where he was slain by the saint. She also cut off his genitals and you can still see them turned into stone when you enter the small chapel at the bottom of the cave. According to tradition, holy water can be seen dripping from his genitals once a year, on the night of the saint’s name day (26 July).
