A deal with God
Church of St.Theodora
When Michael died, in the late 1260s, Theodora donned the monastic habit and moved into the convent she had established. She expanded the church of St. George and adorned it with offerings and vessels, while she spent her time in vigils, conversing with God. She fasted, served the other nuns, helped orphans and widows and the poor. As the church was nearing completion, she foresaw her death. She entreated with Virgin Mary and St. George to mediate with God for an additional six months, in order to complete the project. Her wish was granted and, when her time arrived, she was buried in the church, that later became known as the Church of St. Theodora.
