Once upon a time there were two sisters. One was poor while the other one was wealthy. The two women were always arguing because the poor sister’s children were forced to survive on the scraps from their affluent aunt’s table. Finally the sisters called it a day and the poor one headed to the mountains determined never to return. Suddenly an angel appeared before her and commanded her not to look back, no matter what she heard. Then an earthquake shook the area; it was so strong that the earth opened up and swallowed the rich sister’s house and her entire family. The horrified poor sister turned her head to see what was happening and was instantly petrified alongside her donkey. She stands for all eternity on the lake’s rocky north shore.
