Hermes in anger
A city upon a hill
Hermes must be angry with us otherwise I fail to understand all the misadventures that befell us on our way here. To begin with, the boy we hired to show us the way from Ambracia got lost in the woods. As a result, we ended up entering the ruined city from a dirt path in the east rather than coming upon the main gate to the west. We were tired and hungry, so we ate a humble supper of stale bread and a few onions and slept. Imagine our surprise when we woke up to find our money and a leather bag containing most of our masks gone. The little rascal took off with the mask for the oldest man (xyrias aner), the mask of Oedipus (spartopolios) and the mask of the fair youth of a haughty character.
