Into the wild
A bloody new world
Disaster struck! My patron is dead and I am ruined. There is no way for me to repay my debts and that infernal Corinthian will probably have me arrested and sold as a slave. I, Praxis, the great Athenian actor, will not allow such a terrible fate to befall a servant of Dionysus. I will leave Dodona and go back to the mountainous country around Gitana. There, where the light of urban refinement has been erased by the Roman legions, I will live in the woods and the streams with the Maenads as my sole companions. I will wear wreaths of ivy and the hide of young deers and dance around a pole adorn with a mask of Dionysus as I enjoy his supreme gift to humanity, wine. And let the world go by.
