Just enough space for an ox
Ancient theatre of Makyneia
From the theater you see the Panachaiko, a mountain range in the Peloponnese, home to the largest wind farm in Greece (40 generators). In the Middle Ages the mountain was known as the Ox, because it was believed that during the Deluge mentioned in the Genesis, a part of this mountain wide enough to accommodate an ox remained above the floodwaters. The Rio-Antirrio Bridge crosses the Gulf of Corinth. It is considered an engineering masterpiece that overcomes serious problems such as the expansion of the Gulf by 30 mm a year, the frequent fierce winds, and the region’s intense seismic activity. It is the longest fully suspended cable-stayed bridge in the world (2,880 meters long).
