Eleni Kazantzaki
Kalogria beach
When Eleni, Kazantzakis' last wife, visited Kalogria after her husband's death, she was touched and confessed that she had found the scenery just as her Nikos had described it to her. The locals guided her everywhere during her pilgrimage: in Kalogria, to the little house, the hut, in the lignite mine of Prastova and the spot of charcoal loading onto the boats at "Louki", which in the local dialect means 'furrow'.
