Before the hut's end
Kazantzakis' hut
Testimony of George A. Exarchouleas (George Zorbas' godson): "When we were young, our mother would send us to get wood from Kazantzakis' hut for kindling. We didn't know its value then. We also had a photo in which you could see it clearly, but we destroyed that too, unfortunately. Andronikis's (Zorbas' first daughter) husband was a photographer, Kostas Kehaef. He gave us the photos because the whole family came to Kalogria and stayed at our house. George Zorbas was my godfather, he gave me my name. There was a feast on the day of my christening. Kazantzakis had brought some guests too. People were hungry then and my mother made rice with spinach, which everybody ate with great appetite."
