A homeland for all
Kazantzakis' hut
"Zorbas had leased our house, he trusted my parents and left his children with them. They walked to Nichori everyday, since there wasn't a school in Stoupa back then. (…) I called Androniki 'godmother'. (…) She loved us a lot and she visited us until the end of her life, coming in from Kalamata where she lived. She confessed that she never forgot the warmth they felt at our house and that she spent the best years of her life in Kalogria. My father admired my godfather a lot and he used to tell me: ‘He was a man of extremely quick wit! I hope you take after him, even a tiny bit'."
