From time to time, literary memorials take place in Kalogria in Kazantzakis' memory. In 1998, a unique concert was performed by the "Mikis Theodorakis" orchestra and as the composer himself was present, he sang many of his own songs. Since 2017, exactly 100 years since the two men met in Stoupa, "nARTura – Cultural Association for Art and Nature" has established a 3-day festival in September, relating to N. Kazantzakis and his world-renowned hero, Alexi Zorba. The festivals include speeches, film and documentary screenings, photography exhibitions, visual arts exhibitions, workshops for children, recitations, etc. Moreover, by "nARTura" initiative, the space where Kazantzakis's beloved hut stood has been cleaned and became a visual art open space, which was tended by volunteer sculptor Alexis Safaris and financially supported by Mani's Association of Tourist Accommodation (Stoupa). This space now belongs to the family of Dimitris G. Exarchouleas, whom we would like to thank.
