Zongolopoulos has represented Greece at many Biennales worldwide, and has participated in various Greek Art Exhibitions. At the 1993 Venice Biennale he was the sole Greek representative, while he also participated along with other artists at the 1940, 1956, and 1964 Venice Biennales. He has also participated in dozens of solo and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad. During his long life he received many awards and distinctions, while his works are included in Greek and foreign collections, museums, and public spaces all over the world.
