Make love, not war
The Via Sacra
The famed road Via Sacra, which later became the spine of the Roman capital, is according to legend the location where Romulus, the founder of the Eternal city, signed a peace treaty with the King of the Sabines, Titus Tatius. The war was unleashed when the Romans mounted a large-scale assault by kidnapping the Sabine women and taking them as their wives to establish families and bear children. The ferocious war came to an end when the Sabine women intervened imploring their husbands on the one hand and their fathers on the other to reconcile. Thus, Romulus ruled together with Tatius until the latter’s death.
