Exit or Pass the Armoury and you will find yourself on the Angel’s Courtyard. Facing the statue of the archangel Michael, please take the stairs on your right following the official itinerary. You will walk the terrace called the Alexander VII Walkway, enjoying the stunning views of St. Peter’s Basilica and Santo Spirito Complex. Go on and you will shortly arrive at the Loggia of Giulio II. Built at the beginning of the 16th century, the Loggia is the place where the Pope blessed the pilgrims on their way to St. Peter’s Basilica. Then you will walk past the café and you will continue to proceed around the Alexander VII Walkway until you reach the Loggia de Paolo III (official guide number 10). The Loggia is the entrance to the private rooms of Pope Paul III Farnese. Take the staircase which is just on your right to enter the rooms. The first one is the Library (official numbering 13/ official guide 12).
