Jove descending from the skies (no. 11)
Facing the curved, semicircular space of the council chamber, direct your gaze upward to admire the beautiful ceiling paintings by Ponchino, Veronese, and Zelotti. Our next point of interest is the oval panel at the center of the ceiling, presenting Jove descending from the skies (no. 11 in the official audioguide). It is a copy of Veronese’s original painting, which was taken to Paris by Napoleon and is still exhibited at the Louvre Museum.
