The invention of typography was made by Gutenberg in the 15th century. As a consequence, it facilitated the propagation of books, which could now be mass-produced, reducing its time of production and the cost of producing and acquiring it. From 1465, Greek texts began to be printed mainly by Italian printers, most famous of them Aldo Manuzio, while the first book printed by a Greek typographer was the Greek grammar of K. Laskaris in 1476. In the 16th and 17th centuries. Greek books are printed in Constantinople, Leipzig, Vienna, Moscow, as well as the Ionian Islands. During the Greek Revolution, the first printing presses began to operate in the liberated areas.
