In 2007, fires broke out in the wider area of ​​Ileia that caused incalculable damage, both to the lives of people and property. Disaster images from the affected areas have circulated within Greece and abroad, sparking public interest, and many have been enthusiastic about relief efforts. Prompted by this, in Fribourg, Switzerland, Professor Danielle Salicio - Bourguet, along with her colleagues and students, began selling blue pencils, the proceeds of which were used to support the goals of the Swiss Association for the relief of Andritsaina residents affected by the fire. Finally, with the help of P. Petropoulos, as well as Scheider and Bonheur, 3 water tanks were constructed and 800 lambs were distributed to the affected farmers.
