Statue of Athena Varvakios, NAM 129
Having the votive relief behind you, you will see, on your right hand, the entrance to the next gallery. Once you enter, head right and then left toward the far end of the gallery. You will see the statue of Athena Varvakios (number 129), which is a copy of the gold and ivory statue that once stood inside the Parthenon. It depicts the goddess holding her shield on one hand and the goddess Nike on the other.
